Yancy Christian

Yancy Christian, 49. Our beloved (Yokey) passed away on February 10, 2021 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at 11:00 am at Magnolia Chapel North with Bro. Shane Smith officiating and Magnolia Chapel North directing. Private Burial will follow at Oregonia Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am prior to the service. The services that were originally scheduled for Monday February 15,2021 have been changed due to the weather. The new date and time are posted above.  Thanks for your understanding.

Yancy was preceded  in death by sister Michele Christian Vickers, grandparents:John Caro Sanford, Mary Dell Sanford,  Oren Christian and Elma Collins Christian.

He leaves behind father Eric Christian (Sherre), mother Rachel Christian,  sister Rhonda Carr (Tony), brothers: Rodney Christian (Darlene), Joshua Christian (Jill) and Jonathan Christian and (sister) Courtney Doss.He was adored by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews along with  Uncles, Aunts, Cousins and friends throughout Alabama and the nation.

Yancy was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and graduated from Central High School.

Yancy was very active in Special Olympics and was honored to be in National Special Olympics for weight lifting. He won numerous awards.

Pallbearers will be Rodney Christian, Tony Carr, Joshua Christian, Jonathan Christian, Blake Rogers and Cliff Vickers.. Honorary Pallbearers: John Fuller friends and Pastor at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, Friends at Eagle's Wings, Staff and friends at Hunter Creek, ICU doctors and nurses, Samantha, Northport, Berry neighborhoods, Friends at Rise program, weight lifting coaches,so many that cannot be named for lack of space that Yancy loved and admired.
