Virginia Oswalt

Virginia Oswalt, age 89, of Northport, AL, passed away October 2, 2021 at Northport Medical Center. Services will be 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at Magnolia Chapel North with Keith and K.J. Pugh officiating. Burial will follow in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery in Fayette County. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Oswalt; and son, Gary Oswalt.

Survivors include her daughters, Linda Oswalt and Joan Oswalt; son, David Oswalt (Linda); sister, Betty Logan; and brothers, Frank Chattham and Roy Chattham.

Virginia married James in 1954, and had been married for 56 years when he died in 2011. They moved to California for work in 1954, stayed there, raised a family, and moved back to Tuscaloosa in 1986. After retirement, she lived in Northport until her death. She lived a long life.

Pallbearers will be her nephews.

Honorary pallbearers are Alberta Baptist Church members.
