Troy Amos

November 3, 1979 — September 21, 2020

Troy Amos

Our dear son and brother, friend, Troy D. Amos was born in Muskegon, MI on November 3, 1979. He departed this life on September 21, 2020, reaching the age of 40 years.

His early childhood days were spent in Muskegon, MI. When he was 8 years old, he moved with his family to Chicago. He loved the big city and spent many summers playing baseball. When Troy turned 16 the family moved back to the Muskegon area where he graduated from Fruitport High School.

Troy moved to Florida in his early 20’s and worked as a roofing contractor. He served in the Marines for 4 years splitting his time between Paris Island, SC and Okinawa, Japan.

Troy gave his heart to the Lord as a young adult at the Jimmy Hale Ministries. It was there he met his Mennonite Family and moved to Faunsdale, AL. In Faunsdale he found and was found by his church family who loved him and received his love in return, and on January 13, 2013 upon the confession of his faith Troy was baptized into the Church of God in Christ Mennonite by Min. Joseph Johnson.

Troy was loyal to his friends, dependable to his duty, and passionate for his loved ones. As it has been said: “Some folks are easy to love, yet Troy was hard not to love.” May he be grasped in grace until our eternal reunion.

He is survived by his parents Ron and Becky Amos; brothers: Shane Amos (Ariel), Jesse Amos; one sister, Emily Amos; nephews and nieces: Skyler, Kadyn, Destinee, Trenton, Blaise, and Aurora (all residing in Michigan).

He also leaves behind his special family the Wengers and the Koehns, and many close friends from his church community.

Preceded in heavenly homegoing by: Grandpa Speck Amos, Grandma Carol Rehkopf, Uncle Keith Amos,  Aunt Kathi McEntaffer, and Uncle Mark Rehkopf.
