Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Buford O. Miller.

She is survived by three children, Karen S. Dunn (Ray), Mary E. Latham (Mark) and David S. Miller (Terri); grandchildren Corey Davis, Lindsay Shirley (Justin), Sam Miller, Dan Miller (Tori), Matt Latham (Jessica) and Tyler Latham; Great grandchildren, Colby Latham, Kaylee Latham, Dylan Shirley, Crosby Shirley, Emma Davis, Link Miller, Esley Miller, and Stella Miller; sister, Johnnie Sexton Malone; and many nieces and nephews.

Sue was born August 1, 1933 in Brownville, AL where she met Buford and was later married on November 4, 1954. They moved to Northport where she dedicated herself to being a Wife and Mother. Once their three children were in school Sue began caring for mentally disabled children at the Partlow Development Center in Tuscaloosa where she would spend the next 25+ years before retiring.

Sue was an active church member, leading singing, coordinating fellowships as well as functioning as the church bookkeeper at various times. She was a long-time member of the Women’s Missionary Union of the Southern Baptist Association as well as an avid league bowler participating with the Monday Morning Seniors for many years.

Over the years Sue was shaped by life changes, from growing up in a post-depression pole yard community in Brownville, AL, to moving to Mobile, AL with her Mother and Father during World War II, raising 3 children, to helping mentally challenged children, Sue never knew the word quit. She wore many hats but the ones she wore best were Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Servant to The Lord. She was a follower of Christ and an example for those around her. She lived a full and blessed life and those who knew her will surely miss her during the short time they are separated from her.
