Rev. Jerald "Jerry" Montgomery

Rev. Jerald "Jerry" F. Montgomery, age 74 of Northport passed away on October 14, 2020 at DCH Regional Medical Center.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Annette Latham Montgomery; son, Steve Montgomery; and parents Fayette and Winnie B. Montgomery.

Survivors include son, Scott Montgomery (Judi); daughter, Rachel Green (Steve); grandchildren, Clint Montgomery, Haiden Montgomery, Caleb Montgomery (Anna), Macy Montgomery, and Connor Green; sisters, Delora Snider, and Wretha Green (Mike); and brother, Rocky Montgomery (Melba).

Retired Pastor, having served for various churches in Mt. Moriah Association of Freewill Baptist, and Minister of the community for 46 years.

Throughout his life, he enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, and gardening, which were some of his favorite pass times.

He was a member of The Phillips Chapel Freewill Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday school.

He had a gift for making people feel special and loved. He had a special wit and could make people laugh. He preformed or officiated many weddings and funerals and spenyt many hours visiting the sick in hospitals and nursing homes.

Due to COVID-19, there will be a private service with burial in Phillips Chapel Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.
