Elinor Jean Parker, 89, beloved Mother and Grandmother was called home to be with the Lord on November 4, 2021. She entered this world on November 27, 1931 in Tuscaloosa, AL, born to Ackie and Madie Sanders. She is survived by her loving daughters Linda Jean Parker, Johnson City, TN, Donna Lawrence (Steve) Nova Scotia, Canada, and Terri Reynolds (Tom) Johnson City, TN.
She loved her grandchildren and her greatest joy was spending time with them. She leaves behind 9 grandchildren: Jamie Parker, Hollie Pilkington, Trent Reynolds, Rileigh Carver, Madie-Grace Carver, Anna Carver, Brittni Cannon, Cassidy Wilbanks, Jill Birchfield, 17 great grandchildren, her sister Caddie Bell Dunn (Billy), brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews.
She married the love of her life Tossie Parker on February 15, 1947 and spent 71 wonderful years together before his passing in 2018. She spent her final years in Tennessee with two of her daughters and granddaughters.
She was a devoted member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church of Northport and more recently Robinson Chapel Baptist Church. She loved the Lord and displayed His love in her everyday life. Her love for young children extended from immediate family to the Children's ministry at church. She faithfully served in the nursery and loved rocking babies to sleep. Many grew to adore her in the church as well as the community.
She will be missed for her buttermilk biscuits, pound cakes, and chicken dumplings. She passed her love for cooking onto her daughters and granddaughters.
Memorials may be made in memory of Jean Parker to Chapel Hill Baptist Church-- Nursery Department.
Family will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include the staff at Dominion Senior Living of Johnson City, TN. Graveside services will be at Sunset Memorial Park, served by Magnolia Funeral Home Northport, AL and Tetrick Funeral Home Johnson City, TN.
