William A. "Skip" Nowell

William A. "Skip" Nowell, age 77, of Northport, Ala., passed away July 26, 2023 at his residence. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 29, 2023, at Memory Hill Gardens with Gwendolyn Glover officiating and Magnolia Chapel North directing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, M. K. and Alberta Nowell; his wife, Patsy Hill Nowell; and son-in-law, Gary Robinson.

Survivors include his daughter, Wendy Jo Robinson; son, Richard Mathew Nowell (Michele); sister, Marsha Kay McDonald; grandchildren, Taylor Fitts (Jordan), Tori McGuire (Jack), Emily Robinson, Alexander and Graham Nowell; and great-granddaughter, Brayley May McGuire.

Skip was born in Joplin, Missouri. His father was a salesman. They relocated to Tuscaloosa where Skip grew up and graduated from Tuscaloosa High School. He went on to work at Gulf States Paper, where he met and married Patsy Hill. While their children were young, Skip worked at the ICG Railroad before becoming a grounds crew member for the athletic department at The University of Alabama, where he retired from. He was a member of Harvest Church in Coker.

Pallbearers will be Alexander Nowell, Graham Nowell, Joe Tierce, Joey Harbin, Jason Harbin, and Dylan Snipes.

Honorary pallbearers are the Seniors' Class at Harvest Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Patsy Nowell Landscape Fund at Harvest Church.
