Thomas Eugene Chism | COKER Thomas Eugene Chism, age 79, of Coker, died April 5, 2011, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North with Rev. Scott McQueen and Rev. Gary Edge officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be tonight from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his parents, John L. and Trudy Montgomery Chism. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Elizabeth Chism; daughters, Debra Chism of Cullman, Donna Weidemann (Jonathan) of Pennsylvania, and Stephanie Edge (Gary) of Birmingham; brothers, Taylor (Ann), Billy (Marydell), and Robert (Pat); sister, Ann Chism; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He retired from Liberty National Insurance after 32 years. He enjoyed his retirement working with his Black Angus cattle. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved life, friends, and family. Pallbearers will be Steven Fikes, Garrett Johnson, David Green, Chad Green, Lance Green, Ryan Stanford, and great-grandsons Jared Fikes and Carter Stanford. Honorary pallbearers are Lakewood Baptist Senior Adult Sunday School Class, members of Lakewood Baptist Church, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Euwin, retirees of Liberty National, Mrs. Candy Brewer, Mrs. Jan Booth, Amedisys Home Health, nurses of MICU 3rd Floor, 5 South, 6 South, Dr. Gene Aldridge and employees of Internal Medicine, and employees of Fed Ag. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Lakewood Building Fund. Published in Tuscaloosa News on April 6, 2011
