It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ann Sexton, 87, of Northport, Ala., on Sept. 24, 2026.

Ann was born May 3, 1939, to James and Martha Nabors in Bessemer, Ala. With degrees from the University of Montevallo and Jacksonville State University, Ann taught elementary school in Calhoun County for more than 30 years. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, a caring friend, and a devoted Christian. Ann enjoyed gardening, reading, solving crossword puzzles, and sending cards to loved ones - but there was nothing she loved more than spending time with her family.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Ralph Sexton. She is survived by her brother, Jim Nabors (Fran); daughter, Toni Price (Eugene); three sons, Jon Sexton (Debbie), Matt Sexton (Dana), and Peter Sexton; seven grandchildren, Brittany Cavender, Cody Price (Erica), Kelcey Sexton (Aaron), Hali Donner (Gray), Lindsey Sexton, Amanda Kilgore (Andrew), and Josh Sexton (Emily); and four great-grandchildren, Parker, Easton, Hartleigh and Guy.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 17, at 11 a.m. by Pastor Wayne Bowman at Northgate Baptist Church, 14516 Highway 82 West, Coker, AL 35452.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that charitable contributions be made to Hospice of West Alabama in Ann's name after the date and time of the service.
