Sheila McWaters Milligan

Sheila McWaters Milligan, age 75, of Northport, Alabama, passed away on January 27, 2026, at Moundville Health and Rehabilitation.

Sheila was born on July 2, 1950. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who was cherished by all who knew her. She was a Christian servant who faithfully followed Jesus Christ until her last breath. For more than 50 years, she stood faithfully beside her husband, Glenn, through many joys and many tough times, offering unwavering love, strength, and devotion. She had a special gift for making those around her feel loved and valued and was truly a blessing to everyone in her life.

Sheila was very active in all areas of her life, especially in helping others. She served as a Little League softball coach, headed fundraising efforts for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and was deeply involved with Mothers Against Drunk Driving. She proudly served as "Team Mom" for all of her sons' sports teams and was a constant presence in their activities. Sheila taught Vacation Bible School for many years and even wrote a puppet show curriculum that is still fondly remembered today. She also opened her home and heart to foster children and supported countless individuals and causes throughout her life. Her servant's heart and willingness to step in wherever she was needed left a lasting impact on many.

Sheila was preceded in death by her parents, Delilah Battles McWaters and Stancil Burlen McWaters, and by her sister, Cressida McWaters Blair.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Glenn Milligan; her sons, Joey Milligan (Kim) and Jason Milligan (Alyson); her sister, Vila McWaters Davenport; her brother, Donnis McWaters; and her beloved grandchildren: Brady Milligan (Camryn), Jack Henry Milligan, Hutson Milligan, Max Milligan, and Emerson Milligan. Sheila especially treasured spending time with her grandchildren and deeply loved her sons and daughters-in-law, as well as her cherished Sister Friends.
