Ruth Plowman

Ruth Wright Plowman, age 89, of Coker, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 23, 2022, at Romulus Methodist Church in Buhl with Lynn Gibson officiating. Private burial will follow in the church cemetery with Magnolia Chapel North directing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Plowman; father, G.T. Wright; mother, Beulah Wright; brother, Jack Wright; and sister, Mary Jane Wright.

Survivors include her daughter, Marsha Plowman (Junior Marcum); beloved fur baby, Teddy.

Ruth worked for AT&T for 43 years in various departments and was working in the engineering department at the time of her retirement. She loved vegetable gardening, flower gardening, and cooking. Most of all she loved her Lord and Savior.  Jesus said to her “I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, 26 and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die.” John 11:25-26,

Pallbearers will be Tommy Brittain, Wyman Brittain, David Hartin, David Shaw, Terry Burns, Frank Barringer, Russell Suchomelly, and Scott Elliott.

Honorary pallbearers are Buhl and Coker Fire Department, Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, Hospice of West Alabama, friends in Coker and Romulus, Northport Farmers Market, former coworkers of AT&T, Cyndi Elliott, Dawn Jones, Adel Spain, Jenice Stroup, Lewis and Peggy Leatherwood, Ann Wright, Lisa Sellers Dunn, Jo Rose, Rebecca Letellier, Ava and Wally Shirley, Sara Brown, Tony Breshnahan, Marie Smith, Carol and Rick Diefenbach; Alan and Pam Wright, Bonnie and J.D. Spencer, and Martha Corriher.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Romulus Methodist Church Cemetery Fund.
