Patricia Jane Garyotis
Patricia Jane Baker Garyotis, age 92, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2026, in Dacula, Georgia.
Known as “Pat,” she lived a life marked by deep faith, service, and love for her family and community. She was a devoted prayer warrior who was known for her servant’s heart, welcoming home, and love of baking. Pat was married 64 years to her beloved husband, Walter (Gary).
Pat spent her childhood in Akron, Alabama and met Gary in Birmingham. Pat and Gary initially lived in Texas and then spent six years in Paramaribo, Suriname-an experience that reflected their shared courage and sense of adventure-before settling in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she was a loving mother to her children and was actively involved in church (Lakeside Baptist) and Community life. In retirement, they moved to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, where Pat continued her involvement in her church (Calvery Baptist), The Tuscaloosa Republican Party, And the Tuscaloosa Music Club. In her later years she lived with her daughter, Sandy (Bill) and their children in Buford, GA.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband Walter B Garyotis, her parents Hobson Brooks and Annie Quarles Baker: sisters, Peggy Smith, Hazel True, Jean Mooney, Grace Weeks, Mildred Cooke; and brother Brooks Baker II. She is survived by her son, Corey (Virginia) Garyotis, (Pike Road AL): daughter, Sandy (Bill) Donatucci Buford, GA, Sherry (Phil) Shore, (Dallas, TX), and Karen Roberts, (Fredericksburg, TX); six grandchildren, Connor Garyotis, (Jackson, FL), Kyle (Elizabeth) Donatucci, (Kennesaw GA), Noah and Ashley Donatucci, (Buford, GA), Jason (Carmen) Healy, (Sterling, IL), Derek Healy (Chicago, IL); five great grandchildren, Cecilia Donatucci and Laurie, Cody, Liam, and Jena Healy.
A visitation will be held June 5, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., with a service at 10:30 a.m. at Magnolia South Funeral Home in Tuscaloosa. Burial will follow at Mr. Hebron Baptist Church in Akron. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Samaritan’s Purse Memorial Fund.
