Mary Evelyn "Crickett" Medders NORTHPORT Mary Evelyn "Crickett"� Medders, age 83, of Northport, died April 12, 2012, at Forest Manor Nursing Home. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North with Rev. Rock Stone and Rev. Steve Vernon officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia United Methodist Church Cemetery with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be Sunday night from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Lee Rushing (Lou Belle) of Northport; three sisters, Maureen Clements of Montgomery, Margaret McGill of Tuscaloosa, and Melba Lary of Northport; and her son-in-law, Nick Gibson of Destin, Fla. Survivors include her husband, Minor Seay Medders of Northport; her daughter, Debra Kay Medders of Northport; her sister, Denese Chavis of Northport; her sister-in-law, Eloise Medders of Brent; and her grandchildren, Hayes (age 8), Grayson (age 7), Mary Claire (age 6), Elizabeth (age 3), and Eleanor (age 18 months). She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and Christian. She loved oil painting, gardening, crafts, cooking, softball, and tennis. Pallbearers will be grandsons Brett and Heath Gibson, and Eddie Hamner, Bryant Medders, Glen Rushing, Chris Capps, and Hilary Shirley. Honorary pallbearers are Amedisys Home Health Care (Tanya, Paige, and Linda), staff at Forest Manor Nursing Home, especially Station 2, Dr. Gary Newsom, Dr. John Warren, Dr. and Mrs. Thomas McDermott, members of Macedonia United Methodist Church, neighbors of House Bend Road, Peggy and Melanie Gibson, Deloris Dockery, Christi Patton, and staff and members of Fitness One Health Center.
