Martha Gray

In loving memory of Martha Johns Gray, a faithful servant of God, who peacefully entered eternal rest on November 23, 2023, at the age of 81. Martha, born on December 19, 1941, in Berry, Alabama, exemplified the virtues of humility, gratitude, and love.

Martha's life was a testament to her unwavering faith in the Lord. She found solace and strength in her relationship with God, and her devotion to Him was evident in her every action. With a heart filled with love, Martha selflessly cared for those around her, offering comfort and support to those in need. Her gentle spirit and kind words touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts.

Martha is survived by her beloved son, Michael Gray, and daughter-in-law, Peggy Gray, who were blessed to have her as their guiding light. She was a cherished grandmother to Michelle (Blake), Megan (Blake), and Maribeth, and a loving great-grandmother to Halley Grace, Isaiah, Miley Brooke, Brayden, and Cameron. Martha's sisters, Cynthia Fox and Scarlett Walker, shared a special bond with her, and her memory will forever be treasured by countless nieces and nephews. She joins her dear husband, Shirley, cherished daughter, Lucy Johns, and her sisters Margaret Ann Dobbs and Sharon Franklin, in the embrace of the Heavenly Father.

A ceremony honoring Martha's life and legacy, will take place on Tuesday, November 28, at 2 pm at Magnolia North in Northport, Alabama. Reverend Dr. John Nixon, a faithful servant of God, will lead the service, guiding us in prayer and reflection. Following the ceremony, a private burial will take place at Williamson Cemetery. Prior to the service, friends and loved ones are invited to gather for visitation at 1 pm at Magnolia North, offering an opportunity to share stories and memories of Martha's remarkable journey.

As we bid farewell to Martha, let us remember the profound impact she made on our lives. Her unwavering faith, her humble spirit, and her love for all of God's creation will forever inspire us. May we find solace in the knowledge that she now rests in the arms of the Heavenly Father, where she will be eternally embraced by His love and light.

Pallbearers will be Gregg Gray, David Harrison, Jeff Gilliland, Mark Schofield, John Walker, and Conner Jones.

In the spirit of Martha's compassionate nature, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Hospice West Alabama, an organization that provides comfort and care to those in their final moments. May these contributions serve as a testament to Martha's legacy of selflessness and love.
