Marion Earl Smithson MOUNDVILLE | Marion Earl "M.E." Smithson, age 76, of Moundville, died May 3, 2015, at Moundville Health & Rehab. Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2015, at Memory Hill Gardens with Bro. Ed King officiating and Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home. He is preceded in death by his parents, William Kelsey and Early Mae Smithson, and brother, O'neal Smithson. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Gloria Smithson; daughters, Nancy Taylor (Tim) and Lisa Smithson; son, Mitch Smithson (Becky); and grandchildren, Trent Taylor, Austin and Baylie Smithson. M.E., "Smitty," was a loving husband, father, and great pawpaw to his grandchildren. M.E. was a great athlete, with a love for softball. He was a hard worker. Daddy will be greatly missed. We loved him very deeply. Pallbearers will be Mitch and Austin Smithson, Tim and Trent Taylor, and Josh Matthews. Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy and Patty Stewart and family, Dean Huey and family, Caroline Patrick, and Dr. Larry Skelton and staff of Moundville Health Rehab.
