Lottis G. Thomas

Lottis G. Thomas of Greensboro, Alabama, age 90, dies December 14,2025. Graveside services will be held on December 19, 2025 at 11:00 am in the Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Arthur Thomas officiating and Magnolia Chapel South directing. 

Mrs. Thomas was the daughter of the late Watson Griffin and Lucille Wiggins Griffin. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, George E. Thomas, and son, Bruce Thomas. She was also preceded in death by brothers Paul Griffin and Johnny Griffin, and by sisters; Jean Elizibeth Griffin, Margaret Griffin Coleman, and Peggy Griffin McAteer.

She is survived by a brother, Charles Griffin, a sister, Lorene Griffin Watson, and a daughter, Gretta T. Otts (David). Other survivors include a grandson, Chris Thomas (Kimberly), and three great-grandchildren, Patrick Thomas, Ann Griffin Thomas, and Ridge Thomas.

Mrs. Thomas was a homemaker and wonderful mother and grandmother. She was an excellent cook and made delicious hand-kneaded yeast bread to give to family and friends. She also enjoyed making bouquets from wildflowers. She served as a Sunday School teacher and sang alto in her church's choir. She loved God, her family, music, and nature. Her warm smile and sweet nature will be missed by all who knew her. 

The family wishes to thank the staff of Sonrise Assisted Living, Woodhaven Manor and Aveanna Hospice, all of Demopolis, Alabama, for their care of our loved one during her final days.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church cemetery fund.
