Lola Mae Cook McCray AKRON Lola Mae Cook McCray, age 86, of Akron, Ala., died October 25, 2013, at Moundville Health and Rehabilitation. Graveside Services will be held 2 p.m. today, October 27, 2013 at Mt. Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Bill Curtain officiating and Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Julion McCray; parents, Worthy and Eula Mae Richardson Cook; sisters, Dophia Cook Averette and Willie Dee Cook Ballard; and her brother, Bester Cook. She is survived by her daughter, Lynn M. Lewis (Steve); sons, Larry J. McCray (Peggy), Phil C. McCray (Meda), Kent D. McCray (Vicki), Mark K. McCray (Pamela), and Clark S. McCray (Sissy Langham); her grandchildren, Shane McCray (Beth), Joel McCray (Ashley), Stephany Steinfath (Tyler), Lance McCray (Jennifer), Lauren Faulk, Jim Faulk (Shannon), Olivia Helms (Josh), Krystina Bonnett (Matt), Madison Hepstall (Jamie), Seth McCray, Landon McCray, and Tyler McCray; and eight great-grandchildren. Mama had a true servant's heart. She always put the needs of others first. She had love for her family that was beyond measure... kids, grandkids, or great grandkids, Mama gave meaning to the term "homemaker" that most people couldn't comprehend. Being at her house on Sunday for lunch was the highlight of her week. She was the glue that held our family together. Pallbearers will be all of her grandchildren. Honorary Pallbearers are Dr. Larry Skelton, Nellie Mae Amerson, Pearl Dunson, Staff of Moundville Health and Rehab, nurses and staff of Amedisys Home Health, neighbors and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to American Cancer Society .
