Lillian Charlton

The world lost a beautiful and beloved lady, Lillian Alona Charlton, age 78 on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at home surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held at Magnolia Chapel South Friday at 1pm with visitation two hours prior to service, burial to follow at Coaling cemetery.

The daughter of the late Shirley and Clovie Manderson of Cottondale, Lillian was born on December 20, 1942 in West Blocton Alabama. She graduated from Brookwood High school in 1961. Lillian was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  She enjoyed working in her yard gardening and she loved cooking and baking.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years Charles Charlton, son Christopher Charlton(April), daughter Melissa Myers(Shawn) grandchildren Brandon Myers(Baylee), Tyler Blackmon(Kaelyn), Christopher Charlton, Hannah Blackmon, Haley Charlton, Emily Myer, Sarah Myers, as well as numerous great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Larry Mitchell, Shane Charlton, Shawn Myers, Chris Charlton, Tyler Blackmon and Brandon Myers. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Brian Smelser at UAB Dr. Bryant with Comfort Care Hospice and all the nurses staff. Tommy and Kellie Blackmon. A Very Special ‘Thank You’ to Jess, our wonderful hospice nurse who cared for mother to the end.
