Kurt Mullenix

Kurt John Mullenix, age 58 of Moundville, passed away on July 27, 2021 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be held at Magnolia Chapel South on Monday, August 2, 2021 at 10:30 am with Rev. Royce Brehm officiating and Magnolia Chapel South directing. A private family burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Moundville. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Kurt was preceded in death by his parents, William and Rosemarie Mullenix, and his grandparents Benny and Beulah Mullenix and Ursula Sannemann nee Willner and Werner Sannemann.

Kurt is survived by his wife of 29 years Kristin Davis Mullenix, daughters Lauren Davis Mullenix and Leyna Brooke Mullenix, sister Margaret Dutra, brothers Robert Mullenix, his wife Sylvia, Jim Mullenix, his wife Sheila and William Mullenix, father and mother in-law Charlie and Moye Davis, brother in-law Keith Davis and wife Debbie. Nieces- Casey Bader, Mallory Adams and husband Randy, Alyson Davis, and Jamie Mullenix. Nephews- Michael Mullenix and wife Candy, Allen Davis and wife Sandra, Peyton Mullenix and Caleb Mullenix.

Kurt was born in Fort Benning, Georgia. His father was in the Army, so they traveled throughout the US and Germany, during his childhood. Kurt was proud of his children and could never say “No”.   He was a friend to everyone and the life of the party. When you met him, you immediately sensed his big personality. He enjoyed being with his family and friends. He was an employee of Mercedes-Benz US  International for 16 years.

Pallbearers will be Allen Davis, Colton Kelley, Jameson Kelley, Peyton Mullenix, Hank Robertson, Lawson Smyly, and Dennis Williamson Sr. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of MBUSI, Hospice of West Alabama, Staff of DCH ER, and MICU 1,  Dr. Christopher Dougherty, Dr. John Miller, Dr. Chandra and Dr. Azam.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hale County Animal Shelter 20 Correction Drive Greensboro , Alabama 36744 or Hospice of West Alabama 3851 Loop Road Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35404.

The family respectfully requests masks be worn.
