Kathryn Wilson

Kathryn "Kathy" Smith Wilson, age 76, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., passed away January 15, 2026, at DCH Regional Medical Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gaston D. Wilson, Jr.; and parents, Robert G. L. Smith and Kathryn Calhoun Smith.

Survivors include her daughter, Jennifer Wilson Garner; son, Gaston "Tre" D. Wilson III; sisters, Virgia "Ginny" Blair, and Gloria Garrison; brothers, Robert Smith, and Terry Smith; grandchildren, Nicholas A. Wilson, and Kathryn L. Garner; and best friend, Terri Kennedy.

She worked as a seamstress at Jerry's Cleaners until her retirement. She was a founding member of Nicol Volunteer Fire Dept., and most recently served on their board of directors.

Kathy was one of the nicest and sweetest people you ever could meet. She loved her family so much and was always there for them. She could not refuse a hungry animal, especially her cats - she fed many strays.

Honorary pallbearers are Nicol Volunteer Fire Dept. and Tuscaloosa Fire Station #10.
