Johnny Calvin Corkerin

Calvin Corkerin, age 71, of Bankston, Ala., passed away August 3, 2025, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 7, 2025, at Oak Grove Cemetery in Bankston, Ala.,with Bro. Jeff Kennedy officiating and Magnolia Chapel North directing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie Reese Corkerin and Mary Pauline Gray Corkerin; and son, Johnny Reese Corkerin.

Survivors include his wife, Vergie Ann Glasgow Corkerin; son, David Wayne Glasgow; daughter-in-law, Maria Corkerin; sisters, Faye Frost, Sherry Hobson, Carol Madison, and Georgia Watkins; brothers, William D. "Slim" Corkerin, and Wilburr D. "Fatso" Corkerin; grandchildren, Anna Grace Corkerin, Cheyenne Gano, Dylan Zalewski, Colton Reese Corkerin, and Ashton Saye Corkerin; and nieces and nephews - many beloved with all his heart.

He was born in Fayette County. He was a truck driver, but he retired to be a campground host in 2019. He loved traveling, hosting, tractor work, and grandchildren. He was the most honest, kind, patient, loving person I have ever known - my hero.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
