James “Jim” Lee Holt

James “Jim” Lee Holt, devoted husband, loving father, and wonderful friend went to be with our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at the age of 88. Graveside services with Military Honors will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at Memory Hill Gardens with John Vaughn officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the graveside on Tuesday prior to the service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Nana Ella Holt.

Jim was born August 9, 1935 in Ben Hur, VA and grew up in Rogersville, TN. He graduated from East Tennessee State University then served our country in the United States Army with a tour in Italy. After eighteen years in finance and business he founded and operated the Tuscaloosa Insurance Agency until his retirement. As much as he enjoyed his work, he truly loved being with family and the outdoors, especially golf, fishing, and hunting.

Jim and Betty were members of One Hope Church in Tuscaloosa and were blessed to be part of an amazing and caring Sunday School Class.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 34 years Betty Holt; his children, Vanessa (Larry) Hopper of Woodland Park, CO; Pat (Brenda) Holt of Northport, AL; and Chris Holt of Atlanta, GA; his grandchildren, Nathan Hopper of Woodland Park, CO; Hannah (Greg) Hopper-Beck of Denver, CO; Sydnie Holt of Tuscaloosa, AL; James Blake of Northport, AL; and his brother Charles (Kay) Holt of Rogersville, TN; and his daughter-in-law Carla Blake of Northport, AL.

Jim was dearly loved, and words cannot express how much we will miss him and joyous spirit.

Pallbearers will be Pat Holt, Chris Holt, Larry Hopper, James Blake, Wayman Oliver, and Jimmy Jones.
