James S. "Steve" Boyd HOOVER | James S. ""Steve"" Boyd, age 76, of Hoover, died May 15, 2015, at Moundville Health and Rehab. Graveside service will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 17, 2015, at Oak Hill Cemetery with Rev. Paul Peeples officiating and Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cooper M. and Ada Marshall Boyd; sister, Margaret B. Curlee; and brother, Arnold Boyd. He is survived by his wife, Betty K. Boyd; daughter, Pamela B. McLaughlin (James); sisters, Gayle B. Herndon, Cora B. Bailey, Ellen F. Boyd, and Annette B. Johnson; and brothers, Cooper Michael Boyd and John L. Boyd. He was a graduate of the University of Alabama, with a degree in Metallurgical Engineering. He worked and retired from American Cast Iron Pipe Co. of Birmingham after 41 years of service.
