Penny Fields Sexton, age 79, of Northport, Ala., passed peacefully on August 4, 2026, at Hospice of West Alabama. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Goodwater Cemetery in Northport, Ala., with Pastor Craye Hall officiating and Magnolia Chapel North directing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cade Sexton; parents, John Wiley and Alberta Fields; in-laws, Estus and Vera Sexton; sisters, Vivian Banks, Patricia Clark, and Felicia Porter; and brothers, Verson Fields and Ralph Fields.
Survivors include her daughters, Dana Dunn (Chris), and Wanda Stanley (Tommy Hubbard); son, Danny Sexton (Pam); sisters, Nedra White and Gatha Dockery (Larence); sister-in-law, Margie Fields; and brothers-in-law, Bill Porter and Rick Sexton (Sherry); grandchildren, Jaime Gear (Andrew), Wesley Dunn (Bobbie), Cadi Sanford (Coty), Jennifer Sexton, Hannah Hagler (Keaton), Nate Dunn (Erin), and Rylee Sexton; great-grandchildren, Logan Guszick, Nick Gear, Colt Sanford, Luke Gear, and Marlo Hagler; her beloved nieces and nephews; special extended family members; and many friends and neighbors.
Penny was a loving and fun Granny to her grandchildren, and a dedicated and devoted mother to Danny, Dana, and Wanda. She was always in a jovial mood with an amusing, contagious sense of humor. Penny was loved and cherished by all who knew her. Her fiesty and spunky personality will be greatly missed; for she will forever be our "lucky Penny."
Pallbearers will be Wesley Dunn, Nate Dunn, Keaton Hagler, Coty Sanford, Andrew Gear, Bryant Fields, and Darryl Fields.
Honorary pallbearers are the caring staff at Hospice of West Alabama and her sweet friends at Presbyterian Apartments.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice of West Alabama, 3851 Loop Rd., Tuscaloosa, AL 35404.
