Faye Ann Harris Thompson Estes "Nana", formerly of Double Springs, Alabama passed peacefully from this life to Heaven on Saturday, May 13, 202 at her residence in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Ann was born on June 20, 1946 to parents, William Ray Harris and Faye Snoddy Harris.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Double Springs Baptist Church, Double Springs, Alabama on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.  Adam Veal officiating and Nancy Baker pianist.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Faye Harris, her husband Chuck Thompson and her husband Olen Estes. Each of her marriages were 25 years long.

Ann is survived by her daughters, Jennifer Thompson Brackin(Mark)of Tuscaloosa, AL. and Emily Thompson Walker(Mickel) of Haleyville, AL.; brother, Bobby Ray Harris(Debbie) of Sulphur Springs, TX.; sister, Betty Jane Abbott(John) of Pell City, AL.; granddaughters, Ashely Rae Brackin Reed(Casey)of McIntosh, AL., Samantha Walker Flannagin(Travis)of Tharpton, AL., Elizabeth Walker Sewell(Jake)of Haleyville, AL., Breanna Walker and fiancé' Trey Stevenson of Haleyville, AL. and Isabella Walker; great granddaughters, Namesake, Anna Clare Reed, Charlee Alyse Reed, Carlee Alyvia Reed of McIntosh, AL and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.

Ann was a member of the 1964 class of Winston County High School and attended Walker Jr. College in Jasper, AL. Ann ran a booming in home licensed day care for many years, and became known as Nana at that time. The number of children who attended her day care is unknown but many! Ann worked for a time as a Para aide at Double Springs Elementary School. She began her career in business with a paging company is Jasper, Alabama and then became manager for a mult-location cellular phone company. She attended many sales and business training classes around the country and trained numerous employees. When her business career was complete, she retired to her first love of loving children. She was able to enjoy a few mor babies and served a few families as a nanny or a "Nana". She was also able to serve several families by sitting with elderly family members and many sweet friendships were formed.

Ann and Olen were able to travel with good friends, Don and Jane Gann. She and life-long friend, Shelia Herron, served together at First Baptist Double Springs. The both relocated to Tuscaloosa. The attended Taylorville Baptist Church and enjoyed Sunday School, Senior Adult events, Wednesday night prayer meeting, as well as their weekly trips to the Thrift Store and other adventures. While living in Double Springs for most of her life, she was an active member of First Baptist Church. She Served as a mission teacher on Wednesday nights, Sunday School teacher, VBS teacher, and worked in the nursery.

Nana leaves behind a great legacy of love and strong faith. We can all say, "Because we knew her, we have been changed for good. " Honor her by being changed and seeking salvation through Jesus Christ.
