Emmie Frances Cofer COKER | Emmie Frances Cofer, age 78 of Coker, Ala., passed away on August 7, 2014 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday, August 11, 2014 with Tim Long officiating and Magnolia Chapel North directing. Burial will take place in Williamson Cemetery. Emmie is survived by her daughter, Sheila Bresnahan (Roger); her son, Ken Sammons; brother, Bruce Cofer (Ann); her grandchildren, Trent Bresnahan, Nick Bresnahan, Sarah Bresnahan; and her dear friend, Betty Oliver. Emmie "Frances" worked in the insurance business. She retired in 2001 and moved to Coker to be near her family. Her spirit was strong and independent. She dearly loved her three grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Ken Sammons, Sarah Bresnahan, Nick Bresnahan, Trent Bresnahan, David Veasey, and Brett Cofer. Honorary Pallbearers are Dr. Debra Davis, Dr. Jeanne Lipscomb, Dr. William Hill, and DCH Nursing, specifically MICU, ED, and Leadership. In lieu of flowers the family requests donation be made to the DCH Foundation Cancer Treatment Fund.
