Eddie L. Ellis, of Moores Bridge, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2024 at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at Moores Bridge Baptist Church, 18384 Highland Rd., Fayette, AL 35555, with Bro. Tim Tindle and Bro. Larry Bonner officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.

Preceded in death by his parents, Polly and Leon Ellis, he is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sheila, and his daughter and son-in-law, Lesley and Jamie Campbell. 

He was a lifelong member of Moores Bridge Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and a vital member of the community. He was a Veteran of the U. S. Air Force and worked for The University of Alabama for more than 30 years and was a member of The Lion’s Club of Northside. If you knew him, then you know that he never met a stranger and was a friend to more people than we can name. He had an easygoing personality, enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and served the Lord until he was called home.

Pallbearers will be Danny Anders, Todd Crim, Tyler Crim, Joe Duckworth, Bryant Ellis, Keith Ellis, Winfield Tierce, and Scott White. 

Honorary pallbearers are Truman Strickland and the Buhl, Elrod, and Holman Water Authority members.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Moores Bridge Cemetery Fund, 18244 Boyd Rd, Elrod, AL 35458, as he served as the president of the cemetery fund.
