Dorothy Phelps

Dorothy Phelps, age 78, of Northport, Alabama, passed away October 18, 2023 at her home. Services will be graveside at Yellow Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. with Magnolia Chapel North directing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Nellie Grammer; her husband, John Phelps; and stepson, James Phelps of Mobile.

Survivors include her daughter, Linda Keasler (Bob Colburn) of Jena; son, Mike Quilliams (Karen) of Northport; stepdaughter, Alicia Phelps of Pelham; stepson, John Phelps II (Miranda) of Mobile; sister, Kay Bigham (Mike); brother, Terry Grammer (Shelia); five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was a graduate of Tuscaloosa County High and retired from Tuscaloosa County School System as a bus driver.

Pallbearers will be Mike Bigham, Bob Colburn, Parker Davis, Jacob Spencer, Justin Jones, and Dylan Quilliams.

The family requests, in lieu of flowers, that memorial donations be made to Children’s Hospital of Alabama in Birmingham.
