Obituary

David Warren Wyatt, of Tuscaloosa, passed away peacefully in his home on the morning of Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at the age of 75.

Born January 20, 1951, David grew up in Cullman, Alabama and graduated from Cullman High School in 1969 prior to attending The University of Southern Mississippi. He married Charlotte Schiehl in 1971 and together they had a daughter, Christy. Though their marriage ended, they remained cordial over the years, united by their love for their daughter.

He eventually moved to Tuscaloosa, AL where he would meet Voni Brown, who he married in 1984. They shared 32 years of marriage and had a son, William. Even after they were no longer together, their friendship endured through the years.

Throughout his life, David rarely missed a day of work and always prioritized providing for his family. David was fiercely passionate about college football, specifically the Alabama Crimson Tide. As a decades-long season ticket holder, he loved gathering friends and family for a quality tailgate. Those who knew him best would agree that he never missed a good party, and was usually the reason it was one.

He was a loving father and great neighbor for many years, always willing to play kick the can or shoot fireworks with the children of Northwood Lake. He was immensely proud of his own children and grandchildren - watching them grow both personally and professionally. He always encouraged them to chase their dreams, wherever they might lead, and remained their biggest supporter even from afar.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Linda Wyatt, as well as his sister, Debra Self. He is survived by his sister, Diane Vardaman; two children, Christy (Derrick) Davis and William (Hollie) Wyatt; and two grandchildren, Abigail and Isabella Davis; and many other loving family members and friends.

The family is especially grateful to Voni Wyatt and Janis Gleason for their steadfast love and care. David never took it for granted.

A celebration of life will be announced in the coming weeks.
