David Ward NORTHPORT David Ward, age 75, of Northport, died Dec. 18, 2012, at home. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Daystar Family Church with Dr. Scott Schatzline officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Garland and Carrie Ward; his brothers, William Ward and Winston Hardy; and his sister, Mary Jarrell. Survivors include his wife, Betty Duke Ward of Northport; his daughters, Cheri Crowe, Karen Harless (Michael), and Mitzi Cockrell (Ken); his sisters, Martha Waldrop and Betty Creed; his brothers, John Ward and Paul Ward; his grandchildren, Skyler and Savana Crowe, Mariah and Olivia Harless, and Elam, Athen, and Zander Cockrell; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mr. Ward was an optician in Tuscaloosa County for over 30 years.
