She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon D. and Mary Walker; and two brothers, Terry and Larry Walker.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, J. David Yeager; daughters, Ramona Stokes (Stacey), Rhonda Marcum (Adam), Renay Beadlescomb (J.B.), and Charlene O’Grady (Bill); son, Richard Yeager (Tracy); friend, Jennifer Hunt that she loved like a sister; grandchildren, A.J. Stokes, Courtney Fair (Byron), Chelssie O’Neal (Corey), Kayla Holcombe (Max), Jon Logan Beadlescomb, Cameryn Marcum, Amanda Eddy (Nathaniel), Michelle Harris (Guerrin), Erin Brandt (John), Joshua O’Grady, Lisa O’Grady, Haley Lackey; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Bobbie Catherine Yeager was born in Dearborn, Michigan, and raised in Berry, Alabama. She graduated from Northside High School in 1962. She retired from the Tuscaloosa County Board of Education after serving 25 years as a secretary. She cherished her time at Flatwoods Elementary and made many lifelong friends in the school system.

She had three daughters that were everything to her. She married the love of her life in 1983 and they shared a lifetime of memories together. They enjoyed spending the weekends at their cabin in Perry County. Catherine was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, but her favorite title was Gran. Gran was a wonderful cook. She was known for her “Strawberry Delight” dessert, which was a staple at every family function. The grandkids could always depend on there being a freezer full of Mayfield banana popsicles and a pound cake in the kitchen at Gran’s house.

She enjoyed cooking with her grandchildren and teaching them her secret ingredients to her recipes (or did she really tell us her secrets?). In turn, her grandchildren, enjoyed teaching her about the computer. However, we still received those “friend requests” and the occasional late night phone call asking to help fix her TV remote or how to reset the WIFI password. Gran loved to shop. She was known for her midnight runs to Sonic and strolling the isles of Walmart. She made sure to stop and smell all the soaps, and she would choose her paper towels based upon which had the cutest design. No trip to town was complete without a senior Dr. Pepper or a half-and-half tea from the McDonald’s drive thru.

Gran was the light of our lives and the rock of our family. She was the most selfless person. We will miss her infectious laugh that could fill any room. We will miss hearing her say, “Hey, Darlin”, each time we see her. We will miss her bright personality and sparkly flip-flops. A piece of our heart is in Heaven with her.

Pallbearers will be Richard Yeager, A.J. Stokes, Jon Logan Beadlescomb, Corey O’Neal, Max Holcombe, Archie Milligan, Randy Yeager, Brady Wilson, David Walker, Jacob Walker, and Dewayne Rickel.
