Barney Thompson

Barney Philip Thompson, age 81, of Northport, Ala., died July 28, 2017, at home. Visitation will be Sunday, August 6, 2017, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, June (née Simpson); parents, Dillard and Myrtle; siblings, Fred Thompson, Leland Thompson, Marion Lois Ashcraft, Maudine Junkin, Opal Brunetti and Paul Thompson. He is survived by his daughter, Tracy Sanford (Jessie); son, Jacob Thompson (Rachel); sister, Exer Lord; brothers, Dalton Thompson and Olen Thompson (Sadie); and grandchild, Elise Sanford. Barney"�s life was his family and friends and his work with his business. His children and granddaughter were the lights of his life. He is also survived by his very special friend, Martha Hinton, who brought him such joy at the end of his life. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice.
