Obituary

Alton R. Hamner of Northport passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2019. Visitation will be Friday, November 8 at 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Carroll's Creek Baptist Church. Services will be Friday, November 8, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Carroll's Creek Baptist Church with Brother Alan, Roggli, and Brother Donald Springer officiating and Magnolia Chapel North directing. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

He was a hardworking, dedicated man who remained faithful to God, his family, and his church. He cherished his service to his church, playing softball with his buddies, playing chicken foot dominoes with his family, and being outdoors working.

He is preceded in death by his parents Trimm and Annie Velma Hamner, brothers Max, Donald, Wayne, and Hoyt, sisters Carol and Nita.

He is survived by his wife Sue P. Hamner, daughters Carmen (Bruce), Cynthia (David), Crystle (Ralph), son Kevin Hamner, sister Ramona, grandchildren Daniel (Jamie), Heath, Hunter (Cally), Elizabeth, Kelsey, Lindsey (John), Hal, Kaitlyn, Chase (Hannah), and great grandchildren Crimson, Gabriella, Henry, Zephyriah, Caroline, Addison, Charlotte, and Weston.

Pallbearers will be grandsons Daniel, Heath, Hunter, Hal and sons-in-law David and Ralph.

Honorary pallbearers are Deacons of Carroll's Creek Baptist Church, Kingsman SS class, current and former pastors, and his wonderful church family and community.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Carroll's Creek Baptist Church or to Hospice of West Alabama.
