Bessie was born and raised in Tuscaloosa, Alabama by Bob and Wilma Seals and had three loving siblings that she held very close to her heart. Two older brothers Eugene and Sammy and a younger sister Betty, that was more like her best friend at times. Bessie loved her brothers and sisters like no other siblings I've ever seen. It was always such a huge production for her if one came to town or had a birthday etc... these four were something else, and didn't slow down as they grew older. Bessie graduated from Tuscaloosa High School in 1972 and married her high school sweetheart, Ronnie Clemmons. Later she had her son, Shane Clemmons and four years later she had her daughter, Amy Clemmons Housley. Both of her kids kept her extremely busy in their life together and she always managed to make it all happen and workout somehow. This was an amazing accomplishment as she also worked as she raised her her family and instilled many of her family values and began many traditions that her family still carry on today. Bessie was always hands on and involved in every aspect of her children's lives and saw to it that they had everything she could give them and would put herself last. Later in life, she remarried her late husband, Gib Haney, Gib had three children, Cary, Blake and Shannon. Bessie welcomed those three into her family and treated them no differently and loved and watched over them as her own. Bessie would soon become a mawmaw and oh what a mawmaw she would be. Four precious grandkids entered her life that could do no wrong in her eyes. To her they were perfect and exactly what she wanted. She had an even split of two granddaughters and two grandsons ranging in ages 24,20,18 and 11. These babies were her most prized accomplishments. Anyone that knows Bessie can confirm this from all of her stories that usually were about her grands. Bessie was a very hands on lady. She liked to be involved in her families events and activities. She liked to be there instead of just getting told. Sh touched so many lives with her kindness and family values. She made sure she drilled it in her children and grandchildren. Her need for family drew everyone closer and it was all due to her love. She attended many diff rent churches through her life. She was a believer in God the Father and Jesus Christ our Savior. She put those roots into her family. She made many friends through church and loved them dearly. Some were lifelong friends. There is not a person she met in church that can say they ever saw her without a warm smile on her face, welcoming anyone into her life, never knowing a stranger, always treating others with respect and decency, deserved or not. She was old school and proper. She was what a role model should be to anyone. She gave of herself without blinking and never complaining. She was loyal to her friends, dedicated to her job and co workers and lived for her family. To find someone with so many of these qualities is a hard task to do. Her love was so deep and strong that even her own pets were touched, her dogs Opie and Millie. She treated them as if they were another family member. She loved her children's dogs in the same way. That just a small glimpse at how deep and strong this sweet ladies love was for everything in her life. She was always hands on to fix anything wrong in her family from sinus colds to broken bones to just having a soothing voice to tell you it would be okay or an ear just to listen to you vent. Bessie Seals Haney was a daughter, sister, mother, Mawmaw, mother in law, friend, and neighbor that will be difficult for anyone to match her. Her infectious smile, caring words, loyal support and devotion will be missed but never forgotten. A tremendous void is in the lives closest to her that will never be filled in completely. But she will live on through each of her family that love her with all of their hearts. These things have already began. Until we see her beautiful big smile in heaven, we will carry on her example. WE PROMISE !! We love you without end! Fly high with your new wings and enjoy them, you have more than earned them.
